Welcome to our Blog

Moving Forward Family Services would like welcome you to our newest project! This blog is designed to keep us in touch  and share the exciting events and community initiatives we will be a part of. Please read on to get a glimpse of who we are and where we’re going.

What We Do

We strive to make professional counselling services accessible and affordable to all. Our team consists of registered and clinical counsellors, social workers, and student interns who are dedicated to providing ethical and safe services to clients that would not otherwise have access to them. We serve clients ranging in age from 4-94 from every corner of the globe in 15 different languages, without any government funding.

Our History

This exciting group of people was brought together by Gary Thandi, an incredibly dedicated and hardworking man with a background in social work. Gary recognized that gaps in mental health services led to people being unable to access quality counseling and assembled a team of dedicated, like-minded people to address this critical issue.

Our next blog post will introduce Gary and our Board of Directors so you can get a glimpse behind the scenes at MFFS.

Making it All Possible

We are dedicated to making our services accessible to those in need. We receive no funding from the government, and are passionate about our non-profit work, but we could not make it possible without the generosity of the community and our partners. We are currently fundraising with SPUD.ca so go to SPUD.ca/fundraising to get organic groceries delivered while supporting our services!

We are very excited for all the upcoming events so keep an eye out for them. If you have any ideas you want to share or topics to discuss, reach out to us and we’d love to hear from you!

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead
